Things are Heating Up!

Finally some warmth! After a cold and wet May left us behind, we've hit the ground running this June now that the weather has turned! Lettuce, Herbs, Green Onions, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Eggplant, Peppers, Tomatoes, Pumpkins, Sweet Corn and Beans are now in the ground! Garlic is getting ready to produce scapes. Raspberries are blossoming while Blueberries, Currants and Gooseberries have all set fruit.

The strawberries got a very slow start with the weather but are fully blossoming and have little green berries on most of the plants already. Unfortunately the weather this year has caused some damage and we did lose a portion of our early strawberry field. Thankfully the mid and late fields look excellent and will produce heavily. It does mean that we will have to wait to open until the mid season field is ready, so between the cold temperatures and the early field damage it looks like we will be opening in Late-June instead of the usual early to mid June.
