The weather has finally improved and we've been very busy the past few days! We spent Thursday and Friday planting over 900 Christmas trees with the help of my Uncle and one of my nephews. All trees are now in the ground and we will spend the next few days getting irrigation connected and ready.

The ground is all prepared and ready for the new strawberry field and the plants are set to arrive Wednesday. Depending on the weather we should have them in the ground by the weekend. This field will be next years' early strawberry field and will contain some old favorites like Galetta and Brunswick varieties as well as some that we haven't tried in a few years like AC Wendy and Yambu. We've decided to move away from the Annapolis variety in our existing fields as they do not hold up well in the heat and tend to be a smaller berry later in the year. We like to try out different varieties every few years to see if we can improve the quality of the strawberries we are offering.

Fall raspberry lovers will be happy to hear that also arriving Wednesday are more black raspberry plants! We will be adding an additional row which we should be able to start harvesting small quantities from next year with full production coming the following year.

Strawberries and blueberries are beginning to blossom and are on track for their typical ripening times! We anticipate opening for the year sometime in mid-June.
